Pilot Input Tension Control Clutches
Drive Arrangement:
- Pilot mounted sprocket, pulley or coupling is the input.
- Clutch drives the shaft on which it is mounted when engaged.
Shaft Input Tension Control Clutches
Drive Arrangement:
- Shaft on which the clutch is mounted is the input.
- Clutch drives a pilot mounted sprocket, pulley or coupling when engaged.
Foot Mount Tension Control Clutches
Drive Arrangement:
- Input shaft is connected to the drive.
- Output shaft is driven when the clutch is engaged.
Tension Control Brakes
Drive Arrangement:
- Brake housing connects to the machine frame or a bracket.
- Torque is applied to the unwind shaft when the brake is engaged.
SensiFlex® Features
- LOW PRESSURE ENGAGEMENT & CONTROLLABILITY
Exclusive, patented actuator engages smoothly at low pressures and provides maximum sensitivity to slight changes in air pressure for infinite control of torque output. - SUPERIOR HEAT DISSIPATION
Radial cooling holes pull cooler, ambient air through the clutch or brake to dissipate the heat generated by constant slip, preventing friction lining fade and premature wear. - SMOOTH OPERATION
Smoothness is assured through precision machined components, a single friction surface and a dual bearing pilot that minimizes deflection. - SIMPLE INSTALLATION & LOW MAINTENANCE
Each unit is supplied with a customer selected bore size and keyway for simple, slide-on-the-shaft installation with a single air line connection. Requires no maintenance until friction lining is worn, which is easily replaced in the field.
SensiFlex® Quality
- Precision machined components made from solid bar stock – no castings used
- Each SensiFlex® clutch and brake unit is individually tested for smoothness prior to shipment
