Clutch Couplings
Clutch Couplings and Torque Limiter Couplings
Mach III offers two options for shaft to shaft coupling: clutch couplings and torque limiter couplings. Both are designed to connect two fully supported shafts and are comprised of two sections; the clutch or torque limiter mechanism and coupling half. Mach III provides clutch couplings and torque limiter couplings with customer specified US or metric bores in both the mechanism and the coupling in any size up to the maximum shown for each product.
Clutch Couplings- Used for intermittent transmission of torque from one fully supported shaft to another
- Torque is linear in response to air pressure applied and the shafts are disconnected when air is exhausted
- Used to continuously transmit torque from one fully supported shaft to another
- Slip when the input torque is exceeded to provide overload protection
Each type of coupling is available in both rigid and flexible coupling options.
- Rigid Clutch Couplings and Torque Limiter Couplings
Connects two shafts that are in precise angular and parallel alignment - Flexible Clutch Couplings and Torque Limiter Couplings
Connects two shafts that have a slight amount of angular misalignment and/or parallel offset
